Based in Ratho, 25 mins from the centre of Edinburgh, Lost Shore is set within extensive grounds with luxury accommodation, waterfront bar, café and restaurant, surf schools, surf shop, The Surfskate Academy and wellness treatments.
This world-class facility will change the landscape of Scottish tourism and surfing, bringing an iconic sport to a new inland home. We welcome surfers and non-surfers alike, from first timers to developing Olympians of the future!
Surf lessons are specifically designed to create a fun and safe learning experience. You will be part of a group of up to 8 people and coached by one of our ISA qualified instructors. Lessons are 90 minutes long; the first 30 minutes will be on land where you will learn all the necessary skills that you will then start to put in practice in the Cove for the remaining 60 minutes. We will provide you with all the equipment you need to enjoy your lesson, including a wetsuit, boots, gloves, hood and surfboard. All you need to bring is your swimming costume and a towel.
Surf sessions are hosted by one of our team members, who will be able to guide you on how to maximise your experience, as well as being there to answer any questions. You will share your surf with a group of up to 20 people. Sessions are 60 minutes long, during which you should be able to catch around 10-15 waves. Wetsuits and softboards are available to use as a part of your session, however you are welcome to bring your own equipment or rent a surfboard from our board hire range.
Accommodation – with various options to choose from, ranging from two-person Waterfront Pods to more spacious six to eight-person luxury Hilltop lodges, we have the ideal accommodation options for singles, couples, families and groups of friends.
