After a decade teaching French and Spanish to S1-S6, I transitioned to supporting FE/HE students experiencing Specific Learning Difficulties as a study skills tutor. Keen to understand neurodiversity in greater depth, I went back to university to train as a specialist dyslexia assessor. I now work from my garden office in EH10 where I provide in-person assessments for dyslexia (9+ years) and dyspraxia (16+ years), and "identify characteristics of ADHD" (17+ years) for educational purposes.

Dyslexia assessment review

Our adult son was having some challenges at university which led to a dyslexia assessment. Lisa carried out a full test and review which was enormously helpful. Life is so much simpler when you understand what you are dealing with. The review process in particular was very informative and helpful. Lisa is extremely knowledgable and able to present her findings in an easy to understand way. Lisa's follow up service was also excellent and went well beyond the basis of the dyslexia assessment. We are very grateful for her help and input into our son's further education.

My dyslexia assessment experience

After research into dyslexia assessors in Edinburgh, I choose to go with Lisa Bryce which I’ve been happy with my decision. Despite my apprehensions about the assessment Lisa was professional & warm during our whole correspondence, via email & on the day of the assessment. The report itself is very detailed & personalised to my situation. Lisa was keen to include any future changes that may occur in my work life, where her recommendations would be of use. A very thorough assessment & easy to understand report left me with better understanding of my strengths/weakness as a dyslexic adult.
