A few years ago, at an egg visualisation event, I unveiled my dream for the future. I remember saying the words out loud, “I want to open Scotland’s first co-working space for women”. My face went red but everyone around me smiled and nodded, encouragingly.
I’ve held onto that night, and to my vision. Our pop-ups last year enabled me to test the model and the mission. Our online egg community is amazing but I want to connect more women offline too. And so, I’m very pleased to tell you that ‘egg & co-working’ is now open in Edinburgh’s city centre.
My wish for this space is that it further supports women and their businesses. A creative hub that facilitates collaboration, sparks conversation, ignites friendships and breaks down barriers. A safe space for us to work and play. An incubator and launch pad for ventures, instilling confidence and allowing more women to follow their dreams and make bold, brave moves. Here’s what else you need to know about egg & co-working…
- It’s a cool urban space just off Forth Street in Edinburgh’s New Town. Spanning two floors, it’s bright and airy too.
- Development of the building was recently completed and it’s fully kitted out with new desks and chairs. There will also be free coffee to keep you going. We do LOVE our coffee.
Location wise, it’s super central with lots of independent coffee shops, restaurants and bars nearby. Broughton Street is a 2-minute walk away and if lunchtime shopping is your thing, you’ll be at St James Quarter after a 5-minute walk. Waverley train station is within walking distance for commuters.
- Team egg will be based in the space and there’s hot desking, permanent desks, three private offices to suit a team of 2, 3 and 4-6 people, as well as meeting rooms and a podcast studio.
- egg & co-working is Scotland’s first co-working space for women!
