With a passion for property management and a wealth of hands-on experience, Senior Property Manager Lisa is committed to providing top-notch service to landlords and tenants across Edinburgh and East Lothian. Here she talks to egg about her love for the Scottish capital, greatest achievements and why we should always ask for help when needed…
What is it about the property market that appeals to you?
I’ve always had a passion for property, stemming from managing my own rental portfolio. Having managed tenants and properties myself for several years, I built up my expertise and knowledge hands-on. This gives me a great advantage when dealing with my clients as I know exactly what can go wrong and how to avoid it.
What do you love most about your role as Senior Property Manager at Gilson Gray?
No two days are ever the same. From coordinating rental applications for landlords to arranging and carrying out property viewings, it’s a constant whirlwind. I absolutely love it!
It's also great to share my experiences and offer solutions before problems even arise. It’s a superpower that I continually share to benefit both landlords and their tenants. At Gilson Gray, we care about our clients and put them at the forefront of everything we do and all the decisions we make.
Any top tips for landlords or tenants?
Always ask for help. While many landlords are comfortable dealing with their properties or portfolio on their own, sometimes professional intervention is needed to keep you on the right track and offer support. No question is a silly question.
Your greatest achievement or regret?
In April 2024, I ran the London Marathon. It’s one of the greatest achievements of my life. I was absolutely elated to finish the race and am truly proud of how hard I worked to reach that point. Always keep going, no matter what.
Your inspiration?
My mum inspires me with how she selflessly cares for my dad, who suffers from Parkinson’s and Lewy Bodies Dementia.
Best thing about Edinburgh?
The Braid Hills on a summer evening. Edinburgh is such a beautiful place to call home, and I consider myself very lucky to live in such a vibrant and thriving part of the world.
