The Nest: our egg-clusive breakfast club

Phew, what a morning 🙌 🪺.

Today, we hosted our first ever breakfast club for our Platinum and new Strategic Partners, and it went down an absolute treat (and we’re not just talking about the delicious brunch food)! 

16 of us came together at the beautiful Duck & Waffle restaurant in the St James Quarter for a morning of caffeine, collaboration and community. Over brunch and munch, we shared our stories about our career paths and how our unique skillsets could help others in the room. We talked and brainstormed together about how we could all take small steps to keep breaking down barriers for women in business. Here are just some of the commitments we made as individuals today:

Kirsten from Team egg: "scope out a 'scrambled' egg event with male allies. How can we get men to join the conversation?"

"Be brave on social media and LinkedIn - realise that people appreciate the support"

"Look at policy to support women's health journey, and implement."

"I would like to empower and support women working in sport. Later in the year I will be part of a women's sport Leadership Academy which I'm excited to have the opportunity to network and learn from other women working in sport."

For our first event, we think we captured the ‘vibe’ of networking with a heart and purpose. As our guests in the room said, it felt like we were connecting and collaborating not to promote ourselves and sell our business, but to share our stories and confidently communicate what we can offer to keep building a better workplace for future generations. Definitely what egg does best.
