Team egg were thrilled to be joined by our incredible community at our Women on Top November event at the stunning Lyon & Turnbull auction house last Thursday for an unforgettable evening filled with luxury, inspiration, and connection. Guests were treated to an exclusive showcase of local, women-led brands, and had the chance to explore beautiful collections of fine jewellery, art, and fashion, and, of course, plenty of opportunities to connect!
The night kicked off with an exclusive showcase from Beira and Kingdom Scotland, where we got to hear from two amazing female founders, Antoinette Fionda-Douglas and Imogen Russon-Taylor. Antoinette shared her journey with Kylie, talking about how her passion for craftsmanship and sustainability inspired her to create her fashion brand. Then, Imogen took us through the story of Scotland’s first fragrance house, and how she turned her love for Scotland into scents that so many of us adore.
We also got to meet the fabulous Sally-Ann Provan from The Edinburgh Hat Studio, who brought along her stunning bespoke headpieces and gave us a glimpse into her journey of creating iconic hats worn by royalty and celebrities. The best part? Everyone got the chance to shop all these incredible collections after hearing their stories—it was the perfect way to take a little bit of inspiration (and style!) home.
In true Women on Top style, the event was as much about learning as it was about connecting. We were joined by Alice Strang, Senior Specialist in Scottish Art, and Ruth Davis GG, Gemologist and Head of Jewellery at Lyon & Turnbull, who regaled us funny, exciting and moving auction stories. We had goosebumps listening to some of them! Guests were able to explore a variety of beautiful art and diamonds and get tips on what makes them truly valuable.
We also enjoyed a tasting experience courtesy of Bruadar, a delicious Scottish whisky liqueur that had everyone raising their glasses. And for those not keen on spirits, there was a festive, non-alcoholic twist on the Bruadar coffee cocktail, made in collaboration with Cortino Barrel-Aged Coffee.
Of course, no event is complete without some delicious treats! Crunch Platters wowed us with their irresistible Grazing Boats, which were a total hit.
Huge thanks to Pickering's Gin and FHIRST sodas for sorting us out with some drinks, they went down a treat. And who could forget the show-stopping Mademoiselle Macaron pyramid? It wasn’t just stunning to look at; it tasted just as incredible!
