Last week we were very excited to head to Foxlake for a morning of exclusive use of their new addition, the Aqua Park! The Aqua Park hosts a number of ninja warrior style features including slides, jumps and obstacles. We were extremely blessed that Dunbar lived up to its nickname of Sunny Dunny with the sun breaking through the clouds leaving us with a morning of blue skies and bright sunshine.
Once we all managed to fight our way inside the provided wetsuits and popped on the life jackets it was time to head over to the aqua park for a safety briefing. The knowledgeable Foxlake team took us through all the dos and don't of the Aqua Park, it was then time to get in the water!
Swimming over to the Aqua Park was filled with shrieks and gasps as each woman plunged into the cool lake followed by laughter as we all tried to find our footing on the wobbly and slippy inflatable park. The first few minutes were spent working out the difficulty of the obstacles each path lead to. The team from Foxlake were on hand throughout the session, both on the park and in the surrounding lake offering encouragement, reassurance and assistance.
The 50-minute session on the park was full of women of all ages from early 20s to 60, lifting each other up both physically and mentally. It was amazing to be a part of a group of women most of which had never met one another helping to pull each other out of the water and cheer on one another when trying to find the courage or strength to complete tricky obstacles including the Ninja Run and climbing the side of the 3.8m high Mount Rainer.
Once we were all well and truly exhausted from running around the Aqua Park it was time to return to dry land. At this point, small groups of attendees made use of the other new addition to Foxlake, the Spear Sauna. The sauna is within a small converted horsebox which has been placed at the side of the main lake with a small plunge pool. It was great to warm up, relax and look out onto the lake.
By this point we had all worked up an appetite, Jacquie and the rest of the team from Jaybirds Larder were on hand to help us refuel with platters full of delicious fresh baked goods including scones, croissants, danishes and pain au chocolates as well as tea and coffee.
Thank you very much to all who joined us for this morning of wetworking. Team egg had a fabulous time and we can’t wait to host more adrenaline-filled events soon. Thank you so much to Foxlake for welcoming us!
