Colour is more than just a fashion choice - it’s a powerful tool for self-expression, mood-boosting and confidence-building. As a personal stylist, one of my most powerful tools is colour analysis. Discovering your WOW colours can be truly transformational, making you look younger, healthier and slimmer. It also lifts your mood, productivity and confidence. And all of this by wearing a pink blazer you say?!
The Psychology of Colour
It’s been scientifically proven that colour affects the brain. Think about it. So many of us reach for an oversized black hoodie or a grey chunky knit when we’re feeling tired, run down and perhaps like we’ve put on a few pounds. By opting for the ‘safe/functional/slimming’ shades, you feel that you can fade into the background. In reality, if those colours are not doing it for you, they have the potential to make you look heavier, more tired and washed out by showing up fine lines, shadows, blemishes and dark circles on your face. And let’s be honest, on a low energy day - do any of us need that? Absolutely not!
Instead, embracing colour can be the ultimate confidence boost. Even a small change, like adding a bold scarf or a pop of bright lipstick, can make a difference in how you feel. It’s all about finding shades that enhance your natural glow, rather than allowing dull tones to dim your sparkle.

Finding the Colours That Work for You
Don’t worry, I’m not about to send you off in a lime green jumpsuit with purple accessories (unless that’s your thing!). Personal style is exactly that - personal. I love how clients bring their personality, lifestyle and individual taste to the table to learn how to embrace their own sense of personal style. Some of my clients take baby steps, adding a pop of colour to their trusted black winter coat to lift the look. For others, it might result in some crazy colour clashes which ensure they stand out from the crowd and feel like a million dollars.
Colour confidence isn’t about simply picking the brightest piece in the shop. It’s about understanding what works for you. During a colour analysis session, we discuss how warm or cool your skin tone is and how introverted or extroverted temperaments determine how you feel about colour.
When you walk into a room, I want people to say, “Wow, doesn’t she look amazing?” -not just, “What a lovely colour.” The right shades should complement you, never overpower you.
My Colour Journey & Passion for Styling
My own love affair with colour has shaped my career. After working in commercial management and finance for years, I made a bold decision in 2019 to retrain in an area I was truly passionate about - personal styling. With over 25 years in retail and a deep love for fashion and beauty, I now help clients rediscover their confidence through style. Alongside my styling business, I work as a premium beauty specialist, which fits perfectly with my look good, feel-good ethos.
